Leading Change on Campus: From Vision to Action
In times of rapid change and uncertainty, leading campus initiatives requires both strategic vision and practical tools. This intimate, focused 4-hour workshop (available to attendees of the 2025 UERU National Conference) creates a trusted space for academic leaders to reflect, regroup, and develop actionable strategies for moving forward. This is not a theoretical talk – it's a hands-on, roll your sleeves up, practical workshop designed for real-world application and impact. Limited to 20 participants, this session combines structured peer engagement with practical planning tools to help you navigate complex campus dynamics while advancing your key initiatives.
Workshop Experience
This hands-on leadership laboratory brings together a small community of committed change agents in higher education. Through carefully designed interactive exercises and structured dialogue, you'll work alongside colleagues to unpack current challenges and develop robust strategies for moving forward on your campus. The workshop provides dedicated space for reflection and recommitment to your institutional, organizational and personal goals, while emphasizing both the practical and human dimensions of leading change.
You'll engage in:
- Structured peer dialogue to surface insights and share experiences
- Strategic stakeholder mapping to understand and build your power base
- Message development focused on articulating your "why" in ways that resonate
- Action planning that acknowledges both immediate needs and longer-term vision
You'll leave with:
- A comprehensive stakeholder influence map for your initiative
- Clear messaging strategies aligned with your core purpose
- A practical 90-day implementation timeline
- A strengthened network of collegial support
- Concrete tools for navigating change in uncertain times
This workshop creates an intentional space for both reflection and action. Rather than dwelling on theory, we'll focus on practical applications and real-world strategies. Come prepared to engage deeply with colleagues who understand your challenges and are committed to supporting positive change in higher education.
