The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Committee on Equitable and Effective Teaching in Undergraduate STEM Education is expected to issue its report in January 2025. The NASEM report is expected to complement the UERU-sponsored Boyer 2030 Commission Report and its publication thus represents a strategic opportunity for UERU to help meet what the Boyer 2030 Commission called “the equity/excellence imperative” among the nation’s research universities.
We are delighted to invite UERU members and their senior leaders and STEM deans to convene at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 24, 2025. The event will feature nationally recognized STEM teaching and learning experts and higher education leaders, who will discuss ways in which we can best work together to implement the NASEM report recommendations at research universities.
