Strategic Enrollment Management Workshop

10-18-2023 03:03:00 PM

Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) is one of the most important contributors to undergraduate student success. The importance of SEM to the admissions component is clear. However, comprehensive enrollment management includes functions that also directly or indirectly influence student success and require cross-campus coordination among administrative and collegiate units.

This workshop will describe the key components of Strategic Enrollment Management, including admissions, orientation and first-year programs, financial aid, registration, retention and graduation, and myriad student success functions. The workshop leaders will review how enrollment management is organized on their own campuses, and describe some of the challenges that are currently faced. Additionally, the workshop will address issues of access and student preparation, including the use of standardized tests in the admissions process.

The workshop will enable the leaders to present SEM from their unique perspectives, allow other UVP's with SEM responsibility to discuss enrollment at their institutions, and provide for an open discussion with all participants.
