Amy Goodburn is Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Undergraduate Education and Professor of English at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she leads university-wide student success initiatives and oversees the following academic support and engagement units: Undergraduate Education Programs (general education, transfer, program assessment), Honors Program, National Scholarships and Fellowships, Military and Veteran Success Center, Center for Academic Success and Transition, Center for Transformative Teaching, Career Services, University Advising, Undergraduate Research, Undergraduate Analytics, and Learning Communities. She chairs the Academic Solutions Council, the Retention Leaders Council, and the First Generation Nebraska Advisory Board.
At the national level, Goodburn serves on the boards of UERU and UNIZIN and is UNL's institutional team leader for the APLU Powered by Publics Initiative and the NASPA & Suder Foundation "First Forward Program." She also serves as a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Undergraduate Education Group.
Goodburn's publications include Inquiry into the College Classroom and Making Teaching and Learning Visible: Peer Review and Course Portfolios. At UNL she has been recognized with a College Distinguished Teaching Award, the Scholarly Teaching Award, and induction into the Academy of Distinguished Teachers.
